Payment Information

Fees & Payment Options:

Counseling sessions are 50 minutes in length and the fee for those not using insurance is $125* per session. I accept cash or check, I do not accept credit card payments. *You receive a $15 discount when you pay on the date of service.

Please contact the counselor 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment to avoid incurring a $125 session fee. Please leave a message if it is after hours or on a weekend.

There is also a charge of $25 for each additional 15 minutes. Phone sessions are also charged at a rate of $25 per 15 minutes.

Insurance Options:

  • I am a Provider for BlueCross BlueShield and HealthChoice.
  • Please check with your provider for your specific benefits.
  • I can file your insurance for you but payment, as determined by your plan, is expected at the time of service.
  • Please ask what your current counseling benefits are before making an appointment.
  • Please note that I am adding new insurance companies to my practice all the time.

Some insurance companies do not pay for counseling services and some specifically do not pay for marriage or family counseling. Some require you to meet a deductible before they will pay and others just have a copay. Here are the questions to ask your insurance company.

  1. What are my current counseling benefits?
  2. Does my insurance pay differently for in or out of network providers?
  3. Do I have a separate mental health deductible to meet before my insurance benefits apply?
  4. What is my maximum benefit? How many sessions do they cover per year?
  5. Do I have any limitations such as; do they cover marriage counseling?

Church Referrals:

If an individual or couple is referred by a church, a payment arrangement can be made between the counselor and the sponsoring church. For example, the church will make an arrangement with the client and the counselor agreeing how much each party will pay. This must be agreed upon before the initial session.
