Project SPIRIT

Logistics

Project spirit is held on the 2nd Saturday of every month*.  Activities are conducted at the Payne Athletic Center on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University, which is located at, 2501 E. Memorial Rd, Edmond, OK 73013.

We start by collecting and distributing paperwork between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. The days’ activities start at 9 a.m., and it is not possible to join the group once we start, so please don’t be late. We will take a 45 to 60 minute lunch break (somewhere between 11:30 and 12:30). You may bring your lunch and eat at the facility or visit one of the many local eating establishments.

The duration of the day is determined by group size and participant engagement. However most groups finish the program somewhere between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Group sizes vary between 10 to 20 juveniles (20 to 40 participants when you include parents). Participants establish the dynamics of the group, so while we address the same issues, every experience is a little different.

Participants receive 20 hours of community service credit for attending a 6 to 7 hour program. Therefore it is expected that participants are motivated to be highly engaged and vested in the process **

Remember participants must be accompanied by a significant care giver (parent, guardian, grand parent etc.)

* Dates may vary due to major holidays, and community events like spring brake or graduations.
** No partial credit is offered; participants must complete the day to receive credit.
